I think the key is being secure through diverse sources. Whether their foreign or domestic.
Of course 'U.S."energy security?"' is 'no reliance on foreign sources of energy.' But is that achievable? No, not unless we all decide to take up the ways of the Amish. Just like the US makes lots of food other places make lots of oil. Sometimes trade is good. Even BP is a foreign owned entity, after all.

I would define "food security" similarly; i.e. no reliance on foreign sources of food.
